AICT Wins Gold at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva

Privacy-aware edge computing wins Geneva Gold, letting traffic decisions run without exposing sensitive raw data.

51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, Palexpo, Geneva, Switzerland — 11–15 March 2026

Geneva Gold Medal, Geneva

The 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva awarded a Gold Medal to "Privacy-Aware Edge-Side Intelligent Computing Device and Its Applications," exhibited jointly by AICT, the University of Science and Technology Beijing and Tsinghua University. The exhibition drew more than 1,000 inventions from 35 countries and regions.

The project combines two technologies. Privacy-aware multi-object perception uses spatiotemporal consistency to separate privacy-sensitive targets such as pedestrians from task-relevant ones. Multi-object differentiated pixel shuffling then makes sensitive targets visually unidentifiable while preserving the statistical features needed for violation rulings — so the back end can decide without exposing raw data.

To date the team has been granted more than 90 patents, published over 60 papers and won 24 international competition awards. AICT's HAI products are deployed in more than 70 Chinese cities. Chairman Dr. Yan Jun frames data security as "a mandatory question, not an optional extra" for AI.
