At Smart City Expo 2024 in Shenzhen, AICT presented its edge-side perception line to city operators, integrators and infrastructure partners. The stand centred on a simple demonstration: perception units making decisions on the pole, and only structured results travelling to the platform.
Visitors could follow a curbside bay from occupation to payment reminder, and an intersection from detection to a recommended signal change, on the same screen a city operations team would use. The point of showing the operational view rather than isolated devices is that this is where most projects succeed or stall.
Conversations during the three days focused on integration: how existing cameras and platforms can be kept, how data stays where regulation requires it, and how a pilot on one corridor extends along a network without replacing what already works.
